Department Head’s Welcome
|
Welcome to The University of Arizona Department of Psychology. Our Department is housed within the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and contributes to all functions of the college. Psychology is a "full-service" Department, active in teaching at undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral levels, conducting research, and providing service (College, University, Community, and Professional). This Department, like the university in general, is extraordinarily interdisciplinary and collaborative. We are justifiably proud of our instructional programs, of our students, of our staff, and of the many accomplishments of our faculty. We hope that our website provides you with easy access to information about us, and conveys some of the excitement we feel about the many ways we strive to fulfill our mission.
Best wishes,
Al Kaszniak
Professor and Head of Psychology

The Department of Psychology
integrates its teaching and research missions
in a variety of ways. Our undergraduate major,
one of the largest at the university, focuses
on providing students with a solid grounding
in research methods, and broad exposure to two
domains: (1) Cognition and Neural Systems and (2) Individual and Social Processes. Our graduate
program includes concentrations in clinical,
social, evolutionary psychology,
cognition and neural systems, and in psychology, policy
and law
