Molly Memel’s present research investigates age-related changes in visual processing and episodic memory. As the majority of adults age, deficits in associative and source memory arise. This results in difficulties remembering the context in which events take place. As these functions primarily rely on the frontal and medial temporal lobes, my work will investigate the neural correlates of these changes through an analysis of fronto-temporal connectivity and activation. Both tract-based spatial statistics and functional magnetic resonance imaging will be utilized.
